Arizona Residents to Witness Rare Celestial Event: A Total Lunar Eclipse
Skywatchers in Arizona are in for a rare treat tonight as a total lunar eclipse, often referred to as a “blood moon,” graces the night sky. This will be the first and only occurrence of such an eclipse this year.
The celestial event will begin with the full moon appearing over the eastern horizon shortly after 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. As the night progresses, the eclipse is expected to start around 9 p.m., reaching its peak of totality around midnight, when the moon will take on a deep red hue for about an hour.
