What’s going to happen to Chase Tower? Phoenix looks to revitalize downtown with new developments

PHOENIX — If you talk to Phoenix city leaders about revitalizing downtown, one of the things they always bring up is housing.

People living in downtown Phoenix are crucial to bringing new life to the area. The city says that if you look back to before 2014, fewer than 10,000 people lived downtown. They had what they thought was a lofty goal of 20,000 people living downtown by 2030. We’ve already surpassed that — today, more than 24,000 people live downtown, and we are on track to hit 30,000 by 2030.
