Judge denies reduced bond for suspect in deadly Mesa freeway crash

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — The man accused of hitting and killing a 23-year-old on the side of U.S. 60 last year and seriously injuring her best friend will stay in jail after a motion to reduce bond was denied by a judge.

Prosecutors argued that 45-year-old Nicholas Meyer shouldn’t have been behind the wheel, citing dozens of previous traffic violations and a lack of a valid driver’s license for the last 27 years.
