Over 500 trees lost on Tempe city property from October microburst

TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Since a microburst hit Tempe about three weeks ago, city officials say over 500 trees were damaged and lost to the storm.

Several trees have been removed from right-of-way areas like roads and parking lots. Tempe Urban Forrester Richard Adkins said crews are now focusing on city properties, like parks.

“We wanted to get everything safe first and get most of the debris, now we’re addressing the stumps and make sure the trees remaining are good to go,” Adkins said…
