Flagstaff residents can stash the snow shovels for now, and Phoenix folks might get a break from their sweaters. A strong ridge of high pressure is planting itself over the western United States, sending temperatures up to 20 degrees above normal in Arizona for early December.
The dome of high pressure is acting like a warm lid over the region, blocking out storm systems and keeping Arizona dry. The setup will push temperatures higher through late in the week, bringing Phoenix close to daily records and giving northern Arizona a stretch of spring-like afternoons.
Phoenix is forecast to see temperatures 8 to 13 degrees above normal, and Flagstaff could see temperatures 10 to 20 degrees above normal by the middle of the week…
