TEMPE, Ariz. — Thousands of water bottles were collected during a community drive in Tempe on Saturday to help people experiencing homelessness prepare for the region’s extreme summer heat.
The effort, organized by Tempe City Councilmember Berdetta Hodge, will support the city’s HOPE outreach team, which distributes roughly 1,000 bottles of water each week while connecting unsheltered residents with services such as shelter, health care and employment assistance.
