Family of Toledo man killed in Circle K shooting still seek answers one year later

TOLEDO, Ohio — One year after 40-year-old Norman Allen was shot and killed during a gunfight outside a Toledo convenience store, his family says the pain of losing him still feels fresh.

Allen died May 26, 2025, after what Toledo Police described as a shootout between Allen and another man at the Circle K on Haverhill Drive. According to investigators, both men exchanged gunfire during a fight. Allen later died from his injuries.

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office said Allen suffered two gunshot wounds — a graze wound to the shoulder and another to the back…
