Greater Toledo Classic shows community’s resilience through charity support

A month before walking the fairways of Highland Meadows Golf Club, Mia Hammond walked the halls of the Ronald McDonald House.

The 2025 Greater Toledo Classic champion described pausing at a wall covered in wishes and reading about a mother’s story of her child’s 75-day NICU stay, which put a human face to the tournament’s cause.

“It really puts things in perspective for me, being able to see the difference I’m making simply because of my athletic abilities,” Hammond said. “Seeing the physical Ronald McDonald House building, seeing all they’re doing for these families that are suffering, and meeting the families truly puts it into perspective how incredible this event is.”…
