Man sentenced to life in psychiatric hospital for fatal shooting at McDonald’s

TOLEDO, Ohio — The man charged with fatally shooting another man at a McDonald’s in south Toledo last year has been found not guilty by reason of insanity and will spend the rest of his life in a psychiatric hospital.

Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge Lori Olender delivered the ruling in 26-year-old Kemarri Anderson’s case Thursday, finding him to be “a mentally Ill person subject to hospitalization or institutionalization by court order” and committed him to Northwest Ohio Behavioral Center.

Anderson was arrested in May of last year for the homicide of Brandon Abbott, 44, who was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds…
