Finding out that the Toledo Zoo is ending its ADaPT program came as a “complete shock” to Greg Christy.
“Instead of getting an email saying that the program was shutting down, we were expecting to be getting an email that would say, ‘Hey, what is your availability? How can we get you scheduled for next month?’ because that is how it would go on,” said Mr. Christy, whose daughter Kendyl is in the program, part of the ZOOTeen volunteer program.
