Wendy’s is getting smaller across the United States. Hundreds of restaurants have disappeared from the chain’s map as the Dublin-based company deals with declining sales, rising costs and an effort to eliminate underperforming locations.
For Wendy’s customers in Delaware, however, the latest round of bad news appears to be happening elsewhere. The Ohio restaurants operated by Meritage Hospitality Group, one of the chain’s largest franchisees and a company now in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, are concentrated around Toledo rather than Delaware County.
