Family fun: Metroparks Toledo to host new event, fall festival

Metroparks Toledo hasn’t hosted a fall festival before — until now.

The Glass City Fall Festival is a new event set for Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at International Cove at Glass City Metropark – Upriver. Admission is free.

“ We’ve done smaller components. We do the Eerie Manor Tours,” said Shannon Hughes, director of education and programming at Metroparks Toledo. “But we’re like, ‘Okay, l et’s try and really capitalize in on a new event for our new friends and our new neighborhoods.’ T his is what we came up with.”

Guests can expect fall trolley tours, campfire s’mores, pumpkin carving or painting, a kids zone, a pumpkin giveaway for the first 200 kids, and canoeing in the cove for ages 5 and up…
