Community helps pull 12-year-old boy from frozen pond in Dundee

DUNDEE, Mich. – Police are recognizing several community members for helping with the rescue of a 12-year-old boy in Monroe County. It happened at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at a pond near the Cabela’s store in Dundee. According to authorities, delivery driver Jonathan Garza heard the boy screaming for help and called 911. Deputy police chief Randy Sehl said Garza “was in the right place at the right time.”
