The 34-year-old pregnant woman who Toledo police said was shot and killed in South Toledo early Wednesday morning was a working mother of two who “was about to have a baby,” her uncle, Terry Price, said.
Tameisha Price was found dead at the house in the 5300 block of Norton Place by officers responding to a shooting at 4:48 a.m., police said.
“She was a caring mother of two kids… a sweetheart,” Mr. Price said as he stood outside the house in the quiet neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. “That’s why all that makes no sense. … I’m just trying to hold it together.”
Toledo police have not made any arrests in the case, a police report said.
A neighbor said residents of the house “kept to themselves.”
Ms. Price’s death marks the third homicide in the city of Toledo this year.
Lucas County Coroner Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett said Ms. Price was 8 months pregnant and had been shot multiple times. The official cause of death was pending an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.
