Police seek to identify fire victim from 1987

Toledo police are requesting help in identifying the victim from a June 16, 1987, fire.

After being notified that it appeared someone had been set on fire in an alley behind an auto body shop near the 3400 block of Collingwood Boulevard, police were able to extinguish the blaze, but the victim was already deceased.

Despite an investigation and a facial reconstruction being done using the skull, the victim remains unknown.

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office report stated that the victim was believed to have been a white female, with the possibility of Native American, Black, or Hispanic ancestry, between 16 and 21 years old. She was 5 feet, 4 inches, to 5 feet, 8 inches, tall with a slender build and weighing an estimated 110 pounds. Her hair was light brown/dark blonde with a fine texture and about 6 to 7 inches long.

The teeth were in nearly perfect alignment in front with evidence of some molars being extracted in late childhood.

Five pearl earrings were found in each ear, and she was wearing Jordache jeans.
