Canine care and control running dog adoption special

Lucas County Canine Care & Control is holding an anti-Valentine’s Day dog adopting special, the organization announced.

The fee for taking home a canine between Friday and Sunday will be reduced to $50.

Adopted dogs will be spayed or neutered, have initial vaccinations, a registered microchip, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and a 2024 Lucas County dog license.

More than 90 canines are available at the center, located at 410 S. Erie St.

Potential adopters who are already dog owners are urged to bring their canines along for a meet and greet. Parents should also bring children to meet their possible new pet.
