Four Toledo firefighters suffered injuries while battling a fire overnight, according to the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department.
At approximately 12:40 a.m. Saturday, fire crews responded to a house fire on Sylvan Ridge Drive, the department posted on Facebook.
The post credits working smoke alarms for the occupants managing to escape.
An explosion occurred after fire crews entered the residence. The incident commander then issued a mayday after firefighters went missing and another was reported down outside the home.
All those missing were located. Three of the firefighters were transported to the emergency room for further evaluation, the department said in the post. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
Three cats were rescued.
