Cornerstone Church will host on Saturday a House of Worship Security and Risk Management Training.
The training course will equip leaders of local congregations to maintain secure environments and prevent and control various security risks for their houses of worship. It will be conducted by law enforcement officers who are certified prevention specialists with the Ohio Crime Prevention Association.
Topics to be covered include active shooter incidents and property crimes, youth safety, emergency operations planning, financial and electronic security, and more. Clergy, staff, congregants, security teams, and other officers are invited to participate.
The training will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 1520 Reynolds Rd., Maumee. Those interested should register at cornerstone.church/how . Fees are $40 for members of the Ohio Crime Prevention Association and $55 for non-members.
Norwalk speaker to discuss the science of miracles
Tim Francis, a speaker from Texas, is leading a Science Tests Faith event at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Norwalk. The same presentation will be given each day Sunday through Tuesday.
