A 21-year-old woman said she was sitting in a car in East Toledo on Monday when she heard a gunshot and realized she’d been struck in the hand, police said.
Jenna Benton told police she was sitting in the vehicle on Greenwood Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. when she heard the gunfire and realized she had been shot.
She was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center with an injury police said wasn’t life-threatening, and later released. Police did not list any suspects in the case.
In a separate case early Tuesday morning, police responded to a town home that had been struck by gunfire in South Toledo, in the 5500 block of Ryewyck Court. A 59-year-old woman was at home but was uninjured, police said.
