Legendary Toledo band Loved By Millions to reunite for Toledo School for the Arts scholarship fundraiser

It’s rehearsal night for three of the members of Loved By Millions. George Cunningham and Dave Burk have gathered at the home of Steve Athanas to warm up for the band’s first show together in 36 years.

The band has decided to get back together for a one-night-only show at Toledo School for the Arts to honor their late bandmate Ed “E.J.” Wells who passed away last September. A portion of ticket proceeds go towards the Pat O’Connor Songwriter’s Fund, a scholarship fund that remembers the late owner of Boogie Records for his contribution to Toledo music.

Seated on the left side of Athanas’ couch is Cunningham, rocking a Rutles shirt and a mane of wispy long hair, looking exactly the way an aging rock guitarist should look. To Cunningham’s right is Burk, a smiling man with a pleasant demeanor who can play guitar with the same ease as one walks down the street.
