Hendel: Schedel accepts donation from art federation

MANY folks are enjoying these summer days while they last, especially attending outdoor fund-raisers.

THE Schedel Arboretum and Gardens 22nd annual Hidden Garden Party sponsored by Crown Battery and Rudolph Libbe Group with Taylor Automotive bloomed with energy on the sunny day of Sept. 8.

The sellout crowd of 325 guests toured the gardens with beautiful flowers and the Blair Museum of Lithophanes before the champagne registration. Trez Gregory and Strings of Choice performed as guests shopped the silent auction. A delish dinner by Three Dudes and Dinner followed: filet and Lake Superior Whitefish finished with key lime pie.

Rod Noble , Schedel’s executive director, made two big announcements but not before thanking everyone and recognizing honorary chairmen Phil and Mary Lou Rudolph .

■ A pavilion, which will seat 300 people for wedding receptions, reunions, retreats, and other events will be breaking ground this fall. It will be named the Marilyn Bandfield Pavilion after Rick Kortier’s mother. Rick donated $300,000 toward the pavilion. The 120 x 40 foot concrete pad, on which the evening’s tent was placed, was generously donated by Kwest Group.
