TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – UToledo Health is halting elective surgical procedures through Friday, Oct. 11 amid a shortage of IV fluids. A university spokesperson says the effects of Hurricane Helene have “caused a significant disruption in the nationwide availability of sterile IV fluids, which are used to deliver medications, hydration and nutrients to patients.”
