MONROE — Voters will have the opportunity to meet seven candidates running for federal, state and local office from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 19, at a candidates’ rally held at the Monroe Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Hall, Local 671 at 309 Detroit Ave. in Monroe.
The audience will hear a 5-minute speech from each candidate followed by the opportunity to speak with any or all candidates. Attendees will be able to pick up campaign materials from the candidates, make a campaign donation, and/or volunteer for their favorite candidate.
Confirmed candidates, all Democrats, scheduled to speak are:
Kyra Harris Bolden currently appointed MI Supreme Court Justice, running to retain her seat on the court
Danielle Hoover running for Monroe County Commissioner, District 2
Reggie Miller current state representative for District 31 seeking re-election
Jesse Riggs running for Monroe County Commissioner, District 4
Kimberly Ann Thomas, Democrat for the additional open seat on the MI Supreme Court
