Dine in or dine out? Thanksgiving meal offerings in the Monroe area

There are other ways to enjoy Thanksgiving without cooking including a pre-made meal. If the plan is to dine out this year, you’ve got options.

Community Thanksgiving meals are scheduled along with a few local restaurants that will be open and dishing up turkey and all the fixings. Some restaurants will offer limited menus and hours. You may want to call ahead for more information. And, several fast food restaurants will also be open for business.

Friday, Nov. 22

The Monroe Center for Healthy Aging will host a Thanksgiving celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 22 at the center, 15275 S. Dixie Highway. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, cranberries, rolls and pumpkin pie. The cost is $5 a person. To sign up, call 734-241-0404.

Saturday, Nov. 23

A traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 1-4 p.m. on Nov. 23 at Frenchtown Center for Active Adults, 2786 Vivian Road. The cost is $10 a person for center members and $15 a person for non-members. Music will be provided by On the Rocks. Tickets must be ordered in advance; no walk-ins will be accepted. Tickets must be reserved by Nov. 15. For tickets, call Lisa at the center at 734-243-6210.
