TEMPERANCE — Bedford senior Victoria Gray has finished fourth in the voting for Michigan Miss Volleyball award.
Gray finished with 95 voting points, behind Cass City’s Shelby Ignash (135), Shelby’s Navea Gauthier (258), and winner Campbell Flynn of Farmington Hills Mercy (362). Voting on 10 finalists was conducted by the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association.
A 6-foot-2 middle blocker, Gray has committed to Indiana University. She helped lead the Mules to a Division 1 regional championship last week. Bedford swept Ann Arbor Skyline to win the regional title Thursday and advanced to the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.
In her career, Gray has 1,112 kills with a .411 hitting percentage, 429 total blocks (176 solo), and 664 digs. She has 247 kills and a .344 hitting percentage as a senior.
Gray, a four-year varsity starter, earned a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s all-region team last week. She also is eligible for the organization’s All-America teams to be announced this week.
