Developer of Topgolf-like facility reportedly picks Perrysburg

A developer has selected Perrysburg to build a Topgolf-like facility, which could open next fall.

The deal is reportedly in the final stages of negotiation for the 24 acres off Eckel Junction Road near State Rt. 25, adjacent to Costco. The land was rezoned last month by Perrysburg City Council, from R2 (medium-density residential) to C4 (commercial district).

The land is owned by Bethel Assembly of God. The Topgolf rumor has been rippling around the region since the church filed the rezoning request in September.

Rossford Mayor Neil MacKinnon III, who was also trying to lure the entertainment facility to the city, said Tuesday that the Perrysburg site had been selected for a Topgolf-like facility. It is not Topgolf, he said.

Mayor MacKinnon said he was disappointed that Rossford didn’t land the facility, but said it will be a boon to the area.

“I thought it would be a great amenity for the city, and I definitely think we have a premiere site being so close to all the neighboring municipalities,” Mayor MacKinnon said.
