BOWLING GREEN — An immigrant who gunned down two of his co-workers at a home they shared will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Xiaosong Wang was sentenced Wednesday to at least 46 years in prison by Judge Joel Kuhlman in Wood County Court of Common Pleas.
Wang, 64, continued to maintain that he killed Bing Luan Lin, 40, and Zhichun Huang, 36, and wounded another man in self-defense. The three men all worked at Ninja Hibachi Sushi Steak House in Bowling Green.
Wang had tried to change his plea from guilty to not guilty, claiming he acted in self-defense. Judge Kuhlman ruled against that motion Wednesday, then sentenced Wang.
“I don’t believe you,” the judge said of Wang’s claims, adding that the defendant “irrationally escalated” some minor arguments, then murdered two men.
A video played at a previous hearing was damning evidence, Judge Kuhlman said.
“It clearly showed you looking for someone else to shoot,” the judge said. “And in the video, we could all hear someone yelling, ‘no, no, no’ and you running after them and taking another shot.”
