Toledo Zoo celebrates New Year with noon ball rise

The Toledo Zoo is inviting folks to ring in the New Year at noon on Dec. 31.

The event is ideal for young children, allowing an opportunity for them to participate in New Year’s Eve celebrations without having to stay up late. Adults who struggle to stay awake to watch the New Year come in at midnight may also appreciate this fun option, zoo officials said.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, attendees can gather in the Main Plaza to enjoy crafts, an ice carving demo and an apple juice toast as they watch the ball rise at noon.

Reservations are required. For ticket prices and a full schedule of events, go to toledozoo.org .
