Library Winter Read program starts Thursday

The Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s Winter Read program starts Thursday, with people who read two books having a chance to win prizes.

Readers of all ages can get a head start on their 2025 reading goals with Winter Read, the library’s annual winter reading challenge. Youths and adults who read two books between Thursday and Feb. 28 are eligible for Winter Read grand prize drawings.

“Winter Read is a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons and develop strong reading habits,” said Nancy Eames, the Toledo Library’s youth services coordinator.

Starting Thursday, library patrons can register for Winter Read in person at any Toledo library or by logging into their Beanstack account.

Participants who register for Winter Read will receive a sign-up prize, a cozy hats for kids and grown-ups, while supplies last.

Winter Read grand prizes include Kindle Fires, Nintendo Switches, and various gift cards. Winners will be selected in a random drawing of all eligible participants in early March.
