TOLEDO, Ohio (WANE) – 24 hours after falling to rival Toledo at the Jungle, the Komets were shut out in a 3-0 loss at the Walleye on Saturday.
Fort Wayne has lost three straight games after winning seven of eight games throughout December. The Walleye now have an 11-point lead over the Komets for first place in the Central Division, yet Fort Wayne has played three less games than Toledo.
The Komets only mustered 26 shots on frame, compared to 36 for Toledo. Brandon Kruse, Brandon Hawkins and Sam Craggs each scored for the Walleye in Saturday’s win over Fort Wayne.
The Komets look to snap their skid on Sunday at the Jungle against Cincinnati. That game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum.
