Toledo Board of Education elects new president, vice president

The Toledo Board of Education elected a new president and vice president Tuesday.

Bob Vasquez was voted president and Chris Varwig vice president during the board’s organizational meeting, Patricia Mazur, board spokesman, said in an email. Both had unanimous votes, she said.

Mr. Vasquez has been a board member since 2008 and was most recently the board’s vice president.

Ms. Varwig was a longtime volunteer for the district and parent advocate before being elected to the board in 2013. She has held the board president position in the past.
