Ohio man arrested for pointing gun at another driver

OHIO — A Toledo, Ohio man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly brandishing a handgun during a road rage incident on Interstate 75, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began around 4:30 p.m. on northbound I-75 near the I-275/75 split in Frenchtown Township, just north of Monroe.

A 911 caller reported that the driver of a black Chevrolet Tahoe had pulled alongside their vehicle and pointed a handgun at them. The vehicle contained three occupants at the time.

The caller provided authorities with a description and license plate of the suspect’s vehicle, which was seen exiting onto northbound I-275.

Deputies located the Tahoe stopped in the median on I-275 near North Telegraph Road.

The driver, a 56-year-old Toledo resident, was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies recovered a handgun and additional evidence from the scene.

The suspect was transported to the Monroe County Jail and is facing a charge of felonious assault.
