Principal who failed to report claims of inappropriate conduct requests leave, district says he won’t return

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) – An embattled Perrysburg principal has been placed on leave and the school district says he won’t be returning after.

Perrysburg Schools says high school principal Aaron Cookson requested a leave of absence through Jan. 31. His request was approved, but at the end of his leave, the district will be taking steps so Cookson will not return to Perrysburg Schools.

“This is a step forward in our commitment to ensuring that the school remains a place where students and staff members feel safe and supported,” said Perrysburg Schools in a statement. “An announcement regarding the specifics surrounding the Perrysburg High School transition plan will be shared in the days ahead.”…
