TOLEDO, Ohio — The Lucas County auditor provided more insight Thursday into what has been described as a “programming error” that led to “significantly increased” revaluations for 346 affected properties in 2024, and for the first time, disclosed a second issue that was uncovered and will impact all taxpayers.
During a press conference at One Government Center in downtown Toledo, Lucas County auditor Katie Moline addressed the media and took questions regarding a process that she acknowledged has not gone smoothly.
“I want to update the public on two issues involving the property valuation process. To start, to begin, I want to apologize to all of the taxpayers of Lucas County,” Moline said. “I understand how frustrating this process has been, and I want to apologize to them. But we found the problem. We’re fixing the problem. And this never should have happened.”…
