Dundee Police Department appoints new chaplain

DUNDEE — On Friday, Jan. 17, the Dundee Police Department announced the appointment of Father Derik Peterman as the department’s new chaplain.

After the previous chaplain, Reverend Patrick Rohen, retired due to health issues, Dundee’s Deputy Chief Randy Sehl reached out to Peterman, who was already serving at St. Irene Catholic Church.

“On one hand, you could say that serving the department is already a part of my duties,” he said. “Priests are called to not only serve their parishioners, but lead all people in their communities closer to Jesus.”…
