For most Lucas County property owners, Friday is the deadline for paying their property taxes.But some county residents still have doubts about whether their tax bill is correct. Katie Gailbreath, a salesman for a logistics company who lives the Brookside neighborhood of Sylvania Township, feels sure that her tax bill is based on a significantly inflated appraisal of her property. And she’s confused and disturbed by the claim that her home has almost doubled in value in three years despite having had no changes made to it in that time. Ms. Gailbreath is one of an undetermined number of county residents who believes that their properties are still not correctly valued, despite Auditor Katie Moline’s assurances that her office has now identified all the properties that were erroneously valued due to a programming error.
