Man sentenced to prison for fatal shooting in Swanton

WAUSEON, Ohio — A man convicted of a fatal shooting in Swanton last year was sentenced in Fulton County Common Pleas Court on Thursday to 16-21 years in prison.

Edward Polansky, 34, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter for shooting and killing John Wolf, who was found shot dead inside a vehicle in the village on March 28, 2024.

Wolf’s family attended the sentencing hearing Thursday, wearing t-shirts with his picture and bringing his ashes with them. The family said he was a loving father and his two sons miss him every day. The family says Wolf and Polansky were cousins…
