Steel manufacturer shutting down Cleveland plant

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Worthington Steel has announced plans to permanently close its Cleveland manufacturing facility, resulting in the loss of 55 jobs.

The Columbus-based company notified state workforce officials Feb. 27, indicating that operations will wind down starting April 30, with a final closure date of May 31 as part of a regional consolidation.

Businesses are required to provide a 60-day notice to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services on pending closures but there are exceptions, including if filing a notice with the state may negatively impact the business…
