MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) – Angry anglers are taking to Maumee City Council in protest over parking restrictions near the Maumee River. With the walleye run in full swing, these fishers are asking the council to lift the restrictions.
One fisherman at the city council meeting Monday night said the Maumee River is the only place in the nation where you can fish for walleye from the mud. But, he said the new restrictions are pushing those walleye fishers away.
