Turning hurt into change, local family asking for stricter penalties for repeat OVI offenders

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – One Toledo family is turning their hurt into change and pushing for stricter penalties for repeat OVI offenders. The family said they do not want another family to have to go through what they went through.

Kenneth Pegler has now been convicted of OVI twice, the second involved a deadly crash. The family of the victim said they want the maximum sentence.

It has been nearly eight months since Nicholas Reinhart was killed in a hit-and-run by a drunk driver. His memorial still sits on Alexis Road and his family is still mourning…
