Newport man arrested in internet predator sting

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a German citizen living in Newport, Michigan, on Tuesday accused of grooming and soliciting children online for sexual activity.

The sheriff’s office’s Violent Internet Predator Exploitation Response team arrested Silvio Berge, 58, after they identified him as a suspect through a month-long investigation.
