Toledo community to commemorate Kei’Mani’s birthday Friday

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Kei’Mani Latigue would’ve turned 14 on Friday, March 28. Community organizers are inviting the public to gather to commemorate her birthday.

Community members plan to gather at Wilson Park on Otto Street in Toledo between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday night for a candlelight celebration of life. An invitation said people are encouraged to bring out their cars, slingshots and bikes as part of the event to honor Kei’Mani. Another flyer said a balloon release is planned at 6p.m. Friday at Ohio Skate on Opportunity Drive.

Meantime, local businesses are teaming up Sunday to raise money for the teen’s funeral services. Wheelin’ on the Rocks is holding a benefit and poker run. The main event will be at Wheelin’, with other businesses participating in the poker run — Kickstand Saloon, Daffy’s and Corner Saloon. All donations will go to Brown Legacy Memorial Funeral Home…
