SYLVANIA, Ohio — Substitute cafeteria aide Peggy Marchand has been recognized for her actions in saving a choking student at Maplewood Elementary in Sylvania.
According to Sylvania schools, during third-grade lunch on March 31, a student began choking on an orange slice.
Other students at the table got the attention of substitute cafeteria aide Peggy Marchand. Marchand then came over and immediately began performing the Heimlich maneuver on the student. She was able to help the student remove the slice that was stuck…
