Brothers honored by Toledo Fire, mayor for helping their family escape their burning home

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two young Toledo brothers were honored at One Government Center on Thursday for their quick thinking during a house fire that helped save their family.

Landon Kelley, 8, and Zayden Kelley, 6, received a mayoral proclamation after alerting their parents to the blaze that broke out in their home last month.

Landon and Zayden Kelley were recognized for their bravery after their home caught fire while their father was asleep. The boys noticed the fire and immediately warned their parents, allowing the entire family to escape safely before firefighters arrived to contain the flames…
