Police urge safe exchange practices after Toledo 18-year-old died in robbery during shoe sale

TOLEDO, Ohio — Three suspects are expected in court next week in connection with the death of 18-year-old Joaquin Simmons, who police say was dragged by a car during an online shoe sale that turned violent.

Simmons died on April 2 from injuries he sustained during the robbery on March 29 in north Toledo, which authorities have since ruled a homicide.
