House where Kei’Mani Latigue’s body was found destroyed in Saturday morning fire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) -Toledo Fire and Rescue officials say a fire broke out inside the home where 13-year-old Kei’mani Latigue’s body was found last month, prompting the city to initiate an emergency demolition of the building.

TFRD told 13 Action News they let the fire, which broke out sometime before 7:30 a.m., continue burning because the abandoned home was classified as code red. Fire officials told us it’s suspected the fire was sparked through arson, but the official cause is pending investigation.

Gas and electric officials were on the scene Saturday morning, monitoring the blaze. The City of Toledo says debris from the building will need to remain on the property for several days before it can be removed per EPA requirements…
