Lawyer indicted for attempted murder in Warehouse District incident

A Michigan man who tried to shoot a woman in a Warehouse District restaurant April 11 has been indicted on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault.

Matthew Exton, 42, of Traverse City, failed to shoot his intended target only because he didn’t disengage his gun’s safety lock, according to a Toledo police arrest affidavit.

Along with the first-degree attempted murder count arising from that incident in the Sabira restaurant at 139 S. Huron St., the Lucas County grand jury handed up indictments Monday for three second-degree counts of felonious assault.
