Teens charged in Toledo shoe robbery dragging death appear in court, Simmons’ family protests

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The three teens who were allegedly in the SUV that dragged and killed Joaquin Simmons faced Judge Amy Stoner Tuesday. The prosecutor said all three will be certified as adults. Outside the courtroom, the victim’s family held a protest.

Outside of the juvenile detention center, family members of Joaquin Simmons, also known as Wak, protested, holding pictures of him and signs that read “Justice for Joaquin.”
