Woman gets agreed-upon 12 years for shooting party adversary

A woman who shot another during a dispute at a party in 2023 received a negotiated 12-year prison sentence Friday morning in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Joe McNamara told defendant Ronaysia Miller, 21, that she should use that time to work on her maturity and empathy.

“You said all the right words, but I don’t believe them,” Judge McNamara said of Miller’s apology to the victim and her family, whose identity police withheld. “If you don’t grow up in the next 12 years, you’re going to continue to be a menace to other people.”…
