Work to begin on Arlington Avenue sinkholes with ‘immediate need’ to repair sewer line, city says

TOLEDO, Ohio — The city of Toledo has agreed to a bid and work is set to start on an issue that’s been called a nightmare for some residents in south Toledo.

For months, the city searched for a bid to repair the sewer system on Arlington Avenue, where two large sinkholes have formed.

In February, a $21 million bid was offered to the city, but it was rejected. Now in May, the city has found a bid nearly three times less than that, costing $7.9 million…
